General Info

PRODUCT: Permaseal HV is a one-part, thixotropic, non-flowing synthetic polymer rubber sealant formulated specifically for sealing PVC fittings to concrete.

COMPOSITION:  Synthetic rubber asphalt base.

APPLICATIONS:  
a)  Permaseal HV is primarily used for sealing PVC sewer tap saddle connectors into  clay and concrete sewer pipe.
b)  It may also be used to seal grain bin steel walls to concrete floor bases.
c)  Sealing of PVC pipes through concrete walls and concrete septic tanks.

The sealant cures through the evaporation of volatile solvents to a firm, flexible mass with excellent adhesion to concrete and PVC without priming.

LIMITATIONS: Permaseal HV is not recommended for sealing applications that will have a considerable movement.  Joint size:  Minimum 1/4″ x 1/4″, Maximum 1/2″ x 1/2″.  Not recommended  for application below 5o C.

PACKAGING: Permaseal HV is available in spouted cartridges, 10 and 20 litre pails.

STORAGE LIFE: Permaseal HV has a minimum shelf life of 6 months when stored in unopened containers at temperatures below 21o C.

PREPARATORY WORK: Sealing areas must be clean, dust free, dry and free of residues.

Loose material of all types should be eliminated.  Oily materials are detrimental to a good sealant bond.

APPLICATION
Permaseal HV can be applied with hand or air-operated caulking guns, or pumped from 20 litre containers with air or hydraulic equipment.  Application is very fast and easy due to the thixotropic, buttery consistency of the material.  For optimum appearance and bond adhesion, the sealant should be tooled after applying.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Permaseal HV contains a volatile solvent.  Store and use this sealant away from heat sources, sparks or flames.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
Adequate ventilation should be afforded to prevent excessive inhalation of solvent.  Normal personal hygiene practices such as washing after exposure to the sealant should be observed.  The sealant may be harmful if ingested and a physician should be summoned immediately.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaned joints should be kept dry and free of all contaminants prior to sealant application.

REPAIR:  If part of a seal is damaged, cut out the damaged portion and, making sure no contaminants are present re-seal with new material.  The new sealant will adhere very well to the old sealant mass providing the surface is clean and dry.
